Wr450f 2016 Service Manual

It looks like I'm set to pick up a motard this spring (//whenever I find a good deal). I was originally set on a drz400sm, but the prices here seem kind of steep for a Victorian era bike; the going rate seems to be $4000, regardless of year or mileage. I caught a wild hair and searched for wr450f's and they look like a pretty good deal, 2007+ models for. I Had a 2005 WR450f SM, I put 500 hard hours on it before I sold it.

I checked the valves three times, once at 100 hours once at 250 and again at 500 when I sold it; they were still in spec. Change the oil every 1000k because it has a low oil volume compared to some other bikes (1.2l), but it isn't difficult. Also get a reusable oil filter. I would change my oil after every really hard ride, or ever 1000 miles. WR's are sold as street legal dual sports in the UK, and are designed for road use.

The WR400F is related to the YZ400F, a motocross model. Like the YZ400, it was considered to be a groundbreaking model in motorcycle history, ushering in the four-stroke era which ended the dominance of in motocross and offroad racing. While many modern performance four-stroke dirt bikes have been criticized for excessive rebuild costs and short motor lifespans, the Yamaha WR400F has an impressive record of reliability, often attributed to its steel valves and generous oil capacity.

A beefier YZ style clutch basket and plates than those on the WR400 improved clutch performance.
