Viking Sapphire 835 Manual
I got a free walking foot with mine - but I paid a lot more than US$999 for it, and it was on special too! You get charged so much extra for so many things in Australia. BTW, I love my 835 (it's been 6 weeks so far).
Don't need everything it does, but I sure like it. Ninja kawasaki zx6r for sale. EDIT: @glenj - 3 months, and I still loves my Sapphire 835! No problems to report, excepting early problems because as I just started to learn how to sew, I stuffed up on every sewing machine I used (Trufax). The Sapphire forgave my stupidity though, thank goodness. @Newbug - You missed out, but I'm sure some others got a great machine;). Mufffet, Just to let you know I ran across adealer here in NJ that has a few maybe 4 brand new Viking Prelude 340's and 1 Viking Prelude 360 in stock they are a little high I talked to him but he won't ship them. Yeah I have all mechanical machines except for my 183 I am really trying to figure out if I really want the 835 I can't at this point in time really think of a reason to go for the 835.
I tried the 835 and all I can say is it has more stitches and button holes. I do use the old black Singers with the button hole attachment for them most if the time. My Prelude is actually brand new I think it was used like 10 times by the previous owner. The Madison was used but knowing nothing about Vikings until Nov last year I purchased it after talking to a Viking dealer. When I bought it to the Viking dealer to have her look at it she said I know why she sold it. She was breaking thread, she then showed me that she had improperly threaded the machine she ran the thread under the metal strip just above the needle and slightly wore the plastic which would cut into the thread. She was a seamstress I guess she never looked at the manual.
So i got a good deal. It was a little noisy so clunking under load so I took it apart and greased all the gears now it is quiet and runs great.
I don't believe that permanent lube stuff. I hope the 183 holds up that well. Thanks for answering.
Well I have a few machines by Viking. I have a Madison.
So I was wondering about the 835. I tried it in the store about a week ago. It was nice but I was limited to time, the price is better the usual selling price is $1199.00 So it is 200 off. See my thing is, is it worth the money to step up to it. I am in New Jersey you don't state where you are. I thought the walking foot came with that but maybe it is the more expensive ones. I thought about the embroidery machines but the price of the software really kind of doubles the price of the lowest price entry level machine.
You need the best package to design your own stuff. Plus you have to constantly change the thread on it as is with all home type units. Ok if you have anything to add please do. Read my review on the Emerald 183 I haven't done the prelude or Madison yet.
What machine do you have now? All i can tell you. I have a janome now and this machine has much better feed, it has a great pivot feature. So if your quilting thick batting you can go really high. The buttons are really easy to use. The machine comes with a DVD and a fantastic manual.

It doesnt come with a ton of feet but the viking feet are fantastic. The throat is very big on it, Viking gives you a 10 day try it and if you dont like it you can return it for a full return. Get it home, Try it if you dont like it take it back! I may go for the Embroidery machine in a years time. I wont ever buy another Janome.
